Terps vs. W&M

So obviously this loss was disappointing so early in the season, but I want to talk about the positives first.

1. Sean Mosely - he showed a lot of hustle in the game. he grabbed all the loose balls, got a rebound off his missed 3 and scored, and all together had 8 boards (5 offensive!). i really like the way he's growing.

2. Vasquez - Vasquez was Vasquez tonight. he did what he needed to do and kept us in it in the end. He needs help finishing games though. 26 points 5 rebounds and 6 assists for greivis.

3. Milbourne - the past couple of games mulbourne has stepped it up and is becoming a big scorer and getting plenty of rebs (10 vs. W&M). He gets inside and finishes, getting to the line a lot. he did however miss 3 free throws.

these players are who i think the top performers were (excluding mcdowell :( ....)

alright the negatives.

three point shooting....ugh. - 4-25? seriously? hayes alone ( a great shooter) was 2-9. so this obviously played a big part in reducing our scoring. as it does every game. hayes will get back to his usual three point self and i hope others will too.

free throw shooting is way down from last year. 68% wont do it in a close game against a good shooting team.

the fans have been unlike i've ever seen them the past couple of games. (Villinova and W&M). excessive boos and chants, etc. though its garunteed to stop if we win so..

GO TERPS

my posts will become lengthier as the season rolls on; this is just a post to get the blog started

  1. Yeah I'm not sure why Maryland loses games like this. I feel like they only play when they want to. I mean losing by 15 with 6 minutes to go and then only lose by 7. If they played like they did the last 7 minutes they would've won the game. As of free throws and 3 pointers, they need a lot of work because 68% is pathetic

  2. Maryland seems to underachieve this time of year. My personal opinion is that the flex offense does not run well when they have had a long layoff. The flex does not lead to good scoring opportunities unless it is run to perfection. Someone needs to step up and hit those flex cut short runners.
